Canso Islands and Stories

This adventure begins at Seawind Landing Country Inn and makes several stops along the way to Canso, taking-in wonderful scenery and learning about the early history of the area, including the exploits of the Basque Fisherman. The history story continues as we come to Canso and learn about early European settlements and the competing interests of the French and English. We also spend time hiking and exploring the wonderful natural history of the Canso Islands area. We even explore the future, including a proposed rocket launching facility. This is the adventure for those interested in extraordinary history and how it interacts with the resilience of nature.

Bring good footwear (sneakers are fine), layers of clothing, rain coat, rubber boots (if you have them), and an inquisitive mind. Now you are ready for your history launching from nature adventure!
